Typhoon Pipito Hits Catanduanes

At 9:40 PM earlier, Typhoon Pipito made landfall in Panganiban, Catanduanes, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall to a large part of the Bicol Region and other areas of Southern Luzon. The typhoon is recording wind strength of up to 195 km/h, with gusts reaching 325 km/h. According to forecasts, the adverse weather conditions are expected to continue until tomorrow, Sunday, which may lead to flooding and landslides in surrounding areas. Currently, various wind signals have been issued across different parts of Luzon, including wind signal number five in Catanduanes. Residents in the affected areas are strongly advised to coordinate with their local government units for appropriate actions and preparations to ensure safety against potential hazards brought by the typhoon.
