Trump's Misleading Border Claims and Harris' Republican Support

Recently, former President Donald Trump claimed that a chart depicting migrant encounters saved his life during a July rally incident. However, CNN's fact check dismantled his assertions, revealing the chart contains misleading information about border statistics. The data, which Trump cites at rallies, inaccurately suggests that illegal immigration levels dropped significantly during his presidency. In reality, the chart misleadingly implies that the lowest point of illegal immigration occurred when he left office, not reflecting that it actually pointed to a time months earlier during the pandemic. Contrary to Trump's claims, illegal immigration encounters continued to rise throughout the remainder of his term. On a parallel note, more than 200 Republicans from previous administrations, including those of George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, recently voiced their support for Vice President Kamala Harris for presidency. This coalition of former officials argues against Trump’s leadership style, labeling it as dictatorial. Former U.S. Treasurer Rosario Marine, who supports Harris, stressed the importance of a unifying leader and highlighted the significance of the support she is receiving from prominent Republicans to safeguard American democracy.
