Georgia High School Active Shooter Incident Update

On the morning of the incident, at approximately 10:20 a.m., the Bar County Sheriff's Office received alerts regarding an active shooter at a local high school. Within minutes, law enforcement, supported by two school resource officers, arrived at the scene to manage the situation. They encountered the shooter shortly after their arrival, who surrendered without resistance. Sadly, this devastating event has resulted in four deaths, including two students and two teachers, while nine additional individuals were transported to local hospitals for various injuries. The alleged shooter, identified as 14-year-old Colt Gray, is a student at the school and is currently in custody. Due to the grave nature of the offense, he is expected to face murder charges and will be tried as an adult. The investigation is being overseen in coordination with District Attorney Brad Smith, emphasizing the need for an accurate gathering of facts to ensure justice is served.
